Chapter 3

Ok, so Miami was nice. It was great to feel the sun again, and great to get a lot of business done too. The Plentyoffish news was big, as it should be. It's not 'just about the deal' because I think everyone knows we can get deals done at this point. It's not just about enabling 'calling without exchanging phone numbers', as we've been doing that for some time. It's not just about 'leaving voice mails and retrieving them by email', as we've been doing that for some time. It is a great degree about enabling large volumes of 'SMS', because we've only been doing that for a month or so and we are blown away by the volume. (In Bebo we're #22 out of 1069 overall and in Mobile we're #1). What's more, is what all this collectively represents...

We started out as a phone meets web service, became relationship aware (some are calling this the social graph these days), drove large online distribution, and have cracked the code on driving volumes of activity. What we have before us is perhaps the next big media asset. We had this vision a year ago and began to hire people with media backgrounds (now about 25% of our company have that DNA).

There's a ton of momentum, proof points and promise. With this, we're fixing to embark on the next inflection of Jangl. I hope this next chapter holds as many musings as the last two.
